Hello everyone! Here I am with another graphite drawing! This time the drawing is of Harry Potter. (Daniel Radcliffe)
Now I'll talk a little bit about the drawing. :)
MATERIALS:
I used regular graphite pencils (No surprise there :D) A tortillon for shading, I occasionally used my fingers as many other artists do. I used a Faber-Castell eraser for mistakes (I always make tons of mistakes, but that's part of learning) and also for highlights. The paper is as always- from Kmart. I don't feel the need to have top-quality paper, since the paper I use currently does its job fine.
TECHNIQUES:
The Hair: Drawing the hair was one of the hardest parts to draw in this drawing, because as Ive mentioned in my previous posts, I am still on the learning track to drawing realistic hair. I tried my best as anyone would, and it turned out okay. I used the tortillon to smudge the hair, and the eraser to add highlights.
The Scar: To draw the scar I drew the zigzag shape first and then used the tortillon to smudge the scar and make it larger without it looking odd.
The Clothes: The clothes were quite hard too, because clothes is my other drawing-weakness. I used the tortillon tons! I used dark and light pencils. And of course the eraser for highlights. (Cant forget the eraser) :)
I think that's all! As always, If you have any questions or feedback, I'd be delighted to hear it!
Thanks For Reading!

Graphite Tiger
Hello everyone! Before I begin talking about my drawing, I would first like to thank everyone who has viewed my blog so far- it really encourages me to make more posts. So thanks! :D
Now about the drawing. This tiger was drawn using only a few materials. I will list them below.
Pencils: I used regular graphite pencils that you can find at your local supermarket (If they stock them obviously)
Eraser: The eraser is from Faber-Castell, but I bought it from my local supermarket.
Paper: The paper I used to draw the Tiger is an A4 size from Kmart. Its nice and smooth, so its good for graphite drawings. Its actually an art diary.
Techniques:
Fur: The fur was not hard to draw, as it had to be smudged a lot so it didn't need a large amount of detail. To draw the stripes I used a darker graphite pencil. I drew quick short, close together strokes in the direction of the fur. For the white fluffy looking fur, I used the sharpest side of my eraser, and erased the grey backround I had previously drawn. The point of having a grey backround, is to show the white fur on the Tiger, otherwise you wouldn't be able to see it! Unless of course you drew the fur with a grey pencil, but that would sort of defeat the purpose.I did use a light graphite pencil to draw the shadows on the fur, and a few individual hairs, but other than that, the eraser did the job.
The leaves: The leaves were drawn using light and dark pencils. The lighter sides of the leaves were only lightly shaded, and then smudges. I erased certain spots to add highlights. For the darker leaves I pressed harder, and smudged slightly harder. The dark leaves add depth to the drawing.
The Whiskers: The whiskers were drawn the same way as the ''Fluffy Fur''. :)
That's basically it! Thank you so much for reading, and I hope you look forward to reading my next posts! :)

Boy George Portrait In Coloured Pencil
Here is a portrait of the lead singer of the band Culture Club!
Let me tell you a bit about the drawing.
Materials:
I used Prismacolor Premier pencils, Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils, Derwent pencils and some regular graphite pencils for the initial sketch. To blend the graphite for the initial sketch, I used a tortillon. Some people like to use their fingers to smudge the graphite, (Like me) and its quite useful if you want to cover larger areas. I have only just discovered that I can use tissue paper to smudge the graphite! It works SO well, and I highly recommend using it. As usual I used a regular eraser from Woolworth's. I think its from Faber-Castell actually. I also used a Prismacolor Colorless Blender Marker for Boy George's lips. (I will be doing a review on the Prismacolor Marker later on,)
Techniques:
Makeup: To blend the makeup, I first put down the colours I was using, and then used a white Prismacolor pencil on top.
I also used this same technique for the Jaguar in my first post. :)
Hair: I am not very experienced in drawing hair as I am drawing hair in graphite, but I am learning. I used quite a few different colours for the hair such as, Brown, Dark Brown, Blue,Orange Purple and Red. Keep in mind that they are not the actual names of the colours, because I can't remember what they are called! :D I used long pencil strokes for the longer parts of the hair, and quick short strokes for the shorter parts.
Skin: As Boy George is wearing makeup, his skin is very pale, so I only used a very small amount of colour for his face. If you look closely you can see a slight bit of colour.
Clothes: For his clothes, I used a black Prismacolor and a black Faber-Castell pencil. I also used a blue pencil for the cuff parts (Whatever you call them) on the sleeves.
I hope you liked my drawing, and if you have any feedback please feel free to leave a comment down below! :) By the way, if any of you have any advice on drawing hair in coloured pencil, I would highly appreciate it!
Thanks for reading,
Zoe
